SpendSeer Privacy Policy

SpendSeer ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal expense tracker. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights over it.

1. Data we collect

Account information: the email address and password you provide when you create an account. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
Expense data you enter: amounts, currencies, categories, notes and dates for the expenses you log.
App settings: your home currency, pinned currencies and budget-period preferences.

We do not collect your name, location, contacts, photos, device identifiers for advertising, or any usage-tracking analytics. We do not read your text messages, emails or bank accounts.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: storing and displaying your expenses, converting currencies, and syncing your data across your own devices. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

3. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, our hosting and database provider, and is protected by row-level security so that only your authenticated account can access it. Currency exchange rates are fetched from a public, open exchange-rate data source; no personal data is sent in those requests.

4. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account. This action is immediate and irreversible. You may also email us to request deletion.

5. Children

SpendSeer is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
